Fort Garry Industries has an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Clerk to join our team at our Corporate Office in Winnipeg.

**What You Will Do**:

- Generally, the incumbent will prepare and post journal entries, update financial statements, support accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, balance and prepare financial reports daily, monthly and annually.
- Prepare and distribute financial and inventory reports.
- Participate in month-end close activities including journal entries, inventory reports and financial reports.
- Perform general data entry.
- Assist in year end documentation for audit.
- Assist with various administrative office tasks including filing of documents, coordinate offsite document storage and provide daily reception coverage.
- Provide support or assist office clerks as needed and be provided opportunity to cross train to assist other department roles.
- Participate in year end activities including inventory.
- Other duties as assigned.

**What We Require**:

- Must have demonstrated knowledge and familiarity with accounting sub-ledgers (A/P, A/R, inventory, etc.) and their relation to the general ledger preferred.
- Experience with financial statement analysis and general ledger account analysis preferred.
- Experience working in a busy office environment is a must.
- Excellent Customer Service skills - dedicated to exceeding expectations of internal and external customers.
- Strong written and verbal skills - ability to write and speak succinctly with customers and colleagues.
- Heavy duty parts knowledge or background an asset but we are willing to train.
- Able to work overtime when needed.
- Able to participate in year end inventory weekend.
- Able to lift up to 20 lbs.
