Financial Analyst

Overview:
Reporting to the Senior Corporate Financial Analyst the **Financial Analyst**, will assist with internal and external financial reporting, as well as provide high quality detailed monthly analysis.

**Responsibilities**:

- Lead in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements within Workiva for both Canadian and Foreign entities and joint venture partnerships.
- Prepare and support the financial reporting manager in the review of internal and external variance analysis to be used in preparation of the MD&A and external reporting as required.
- Research and implement with the support of the financial reporting Manager or Director with updates to accounting policies.
- Prepare and support the Manager or Director to review technical memos for complex financial instruments and transactions.
- Prepare non-working capital related working papers and related SOX compliance.
- Review and lead in the completion of the tasks of the financial analysis in preparing audit working papers and IFRS compliant statements.
- Review and propose journal entries for complex and non-routine transactions and reviewed with outside consultants.
- Support the financial reporting manager and director in providing information requests from the external auditor.
- Recommend and support in the implementation of any updates to accounting policies related to non-working capital accounts.
- Provide the relevant information to the tax team as required to achieve tax compliance.
- Ad-hoc statutory reporting.
- Ad-hoc requests/analysis from financial reporting manager and director.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA designation or in the process of completing the CPA designation.
- Minimum 2 years combined experience in accounting and finance, with a focus in financial reporting and financial analysis.
- Experience in preparing or auditing financial statements and handling multi-currency transactions and consolidations an asset.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail oriented and organized.
- Demonstrate flexibility, strong commitment to meeting strict deadlines.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
