Role Overview
The primary function of the Financial Analyst is to develop and analyze financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making while preparing clear financial reports with key insights for leadership. This position supports month-end and year-end close processes, collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial data, and conducts ad hoc analysis to guide investment and cost optimization decisions.
Role Objectives
The Financial Analyst responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Develop, maintain, and analyze financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports with variance analysis and key insights for management
- Support the month-end and year-end close processes through analysis and reconciliations
- Collaborate with accounting and operational teams to ensure accuracy of financial data and alignment of assumptions
- Analyze business performance metrics, identify trends, and recommend actionable improvements
- Conduct ad hoc financial analysis to support investment decisions, pricing strategies, and cost optimization
- Assist in the preparation of presentations for executives, board meetings, and investor reports
- Monitor key financial and operational KPIs to track business health and provide early warning signals
- Support the development of annual budgets and long-range financial plans
- Evaluate financial performance of projects, new initiatives, and business cases with ROI and payback analysis
- Support the implementation and optimization of AI tools, automation workflows, and dashboard reporting to enhance financial insight and operational efficiency

Role Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (CPA/CFA/MBA is an asset)
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, corporate finance, or FP&A
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and modeling)
- Familiarity with QuickBooks Online is an asset
- Healthcare industry experience is an asset
- Experience with financial automation tools, dashboard reporting, or AI-driven analysis is a strong asset
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial statements
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly summarize complex financial data
- High attention to detail, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently under tight deadlines
