**Early Learning and Child Care Practicum Coordinator**

The Early Learning and Child Care (ELCC) Practicum Coordinator plays a vital role in managing practicum coordination, supporting students during their placements, and ensuring compliance with program standards. This reports to the ELCC Faculty Department Head and collaborates with MaKami College's Practicum Department to deliver a seamless, supportive, and enriching practicum experience for students.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Organize and oversee all aspects of practicum placements for ELCC students, ensuring alignment with program objectives and standards.
- Collaborate with the MaKami College Practicum Department to manage placement logistics and site approvals.
- Source and secure suitable practicum sites, fostering relationships with community partners and early learning centers.
- Conduct site visits to ensure placement quality and resolve issues as they arise.
- Maintain up-to-date records of student placements and site details using platforms such as Moodle.
- Guide students in preparing for practicum placements, including professional development workshops on resume writing, job search strategies, and interview skills.
- Provide ongoing mentorship and support to students during their placements, addressing challenges and promoting success.
- Monitor and assess student performance during practicums, offering constructive feedback and assistance as needed.
- Conduct site visits to evaluate student success at placement locations
- Act as a liaison between students, faculty, and practicum sites, ensuring open communication and conflict resolution.
- Work in partnership with the Practicum Department to streamline practicum operations and resolve cross-departmental challenges.
- Prepare reports on student progress and placement outcomes for review by the ELCC Faculty Department Head.
- Communicate regularly with faculty and placement sites to address updates, requirements, and any emerging concerns.
- Maintain organized records of student placements, performance, and feedback for program evaluation purposes.
- Create and distribute practicum schedules, ensuring all timelines and requirements are met.
- Assist with organizing career fairs, orientations, and other practicum-related events.
- Update job boards and share relevant employment opportunities with students.

**Education and Certifications**
- A diploma in Early Learning and Child Care is required.
- Training or certifications in business administration or project coordination (asset).
- Current First Aid and Police Clearance Check with Vulnerable Sector

**Experience**
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in practicum coordination, teaching, or administrative roles in education or early learning.
- Familiarity with learning management systems (e.g., Moodle) and administrative tools.
- Experience working with community partners and managing external relationships preferred.

**Skills and Competencies**
- Strong organizational and planning skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships and foster collaboration.
- Problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities to address practicum challenges effectively.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
