**The Opportunity**

Dillon’s **Civil Infrastructure**technical group is looking for a **Junior Construction Observer**in** Windsor**to join our multidisciplinary team of professionals. You will have the opportunity to work in the field on new and exciting projects while providing clients with a fully integrated and superior customer experience.

**Responsibilities**:
As a **Junior Construction Observer**, you will assist our project managers on-site, ensuring that construction aligns with approved designs and specifications. Your key duties will include:

- ** Site Inspection**: Conducting regular site inspections of municipal and land development projects.
- ** Documentation**: Preparing detailed daily inspection reports, documenting work progress, site conditions, labor, and equipment usage.
- ** Quality Assurance**: Monitoring construction activities to ensure compliance with contract documents, engineering drawings, and quality standards.
- ** Coordination**: Liaising with contractors, project managers, and municipal representatives to address site issues and report on progress.
- ** Safety Compliance**: Observing and reporting on-site health and safety practices to ensure a secure working environment.

Qualifications:
**What you will need to succeed**
- A diploma in Civil Engineering Technology would be an asset.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and contract specifications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective reporting and on-site coordination.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and address construction issues promptly.
- Ability to operate survey rod and level is an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
- Able to keep organized notes related to daily site activities, contractor equipment used, quantities and document with photos.
- Valid Canadian drivers’ license.

**Experience**:

- 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in construction inspection, preferably on municipal infrastructure or land development projects.
- Working knowledge of relevant municipal/provincial standards and regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of contract administration services and requirements.
- Knowledge of municipal servicing standards and environmental approvals requirements.
