Our client, a growing insulation company in Ottawa, is looking for a **detail-oriented and results-driven Estimator** to join their team. The Estimator will play a key role in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for residential, commercial, and industrial insulation projects. This position directly supports the company’s profitability goals and customer satisfaction by ensuring precise cost projections and client communication.

The role involves **onsite client visits** to perform attic inspections and explain processes, requiring excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail. A **full driver’s license** is mandatory for this role.

**Mandatory Requirements**

**Experience**:

- Proven experience as an Estimator, ideally within the insulation or construction industry.

**Education**:

- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required).

**Technical Skills**:

- Proficiency in estimation software (the company currently uses Stack) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

**Soft Skills**:

- Strong analytical and mathematical aptitude.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Detail-oriented with outstanding organizational skills.

**Knowledge**:

- Familiarity with insulation materials, installation methods, and applicable building codes.

**Key Responsibilities**

**1. Project Evaluation**
- Analyze project specifications, blueprints, and site conditions to determine insulation requirements.
- Conduct onsite inspections at client homes, explain the company’s process, and provide attic inspections as needed.

**2. Cost Estimation**
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, factoring in materials, labor, equipment, and other expenses.

**3. Client Communication**
- Work closely with clients to clarify project scopes, address concerns, and ensure a smooth estimation process.

**4. Supplier Coordination**
- Source competitive quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to maintain cost accuracy.

**5. Proposal Preparation**
- Develop professional and customized bid proposals that align with client needs and project requirements.

**6. Collaboration**
- Partner with sales, project management, and field teams to ensure seamless project transitions and execution.

**7. Market Analysis**
- Stay current with industry trends, insulation materials, and market rates to optimize estimation processes.

**8. Documentation**
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of estimates, contracts, and client correspondence for future reference.
