**Mission**:
**Support Staff Temporary Roster**:
CBE Human Resources manages a roster of contingent casual on-call workers who temporarily replace staff absences or work on short-term projects. Work assignments may be scheduled in advance or the morning of the assignment. Roster staff enjoy the flexibility of working in schools and departments full-time or part-time with a minimum of two days availability per week. We are looking for reliable, self-motivated individuals to join our temporary roster team as on-call Loan Pool Clerks. The purpose of this position is to organize, maintain and circulate equipment and resources for the complex needs, deaf or hard of hearing, visually impaired, psychology, early learning and speech equipment loan pool.

**Position Description**:
**Accountability**
- Working in collaboration with members of Support Services for Inclusive Learning (SSIL) team, Early Learning team and Psychology team to ensure effective, efficient and proper maintenance and circulation of equipment and resources.

**Major responsibilities**
- Receives, checks, stores and issues equipment and resources of the loan pool in a timely manner to Calgary Board of Education (CBE) schools to support the learning needs of CBE students.
- Ensures equipment is returned in a timely manner and escalates where appropriate.
- Ensures the operation and preventative maintenance for all equipment including routine checks. Makes minor repairs when possible, obtains quotes for repairs, sends equipment out for repairs and monitors its progress and return.
- Arranges for disposal of obsolete or unsafe equipment and resources.
- Meets with members of the SSIL team to discuss suitable equipment to fill student needs as well as the availability of equipment in the loan pool.
- Recommends the purchase of new equipment and resources based on identified needs.
- Acts as administrator for the system used for tracking equipment and resources.
- Maintains staff and student records
- Barcodes all new equipment and resources
- Signs all equipment in and out
- Tracks overdue items
- Tracks student movement in the student information system to ensure timely access to equipment when transitioning to new schools.
- Maintains a working knowledge of all equipment and safety requirements.
- Communicates with Education Assistants and Teachers around user information.
- Attends product demonstrations and information sessions to keep informed.
- Assists Audiologist with preparation for professional development sessions.
- Performs other related responsibilities as assigned to meet the purpose and accountabilities of the role.

**Qualifications**

Education and Experience
- High school completion.
- Working knowledge and experience with Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Experience with the Maplewood system would be an asset.
- Experience with and knowledge of complex needs, visual impairment and amplification devices would be an asset.
- A minimum of 9 months to 1 year of related experience.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
