Agricorp is looking for a **Manager, Risk Management** to join the Corporate Services division, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
**The Role**:
The Manager, Risk Management is responsible for overall organizational and program risks (e.g. strategic, operational, financial, macroeconomics), including the program auditing function, to ensure risks are identified and mitigated with sound risk management strategies. Further, the role must ensure risk management initiatives, including reinsurance requirements are strategically planned, align with overall business vision, are efficiently implemented and communicated to the Board of Directors, senior management and staff. The role is responsible for the effective annual procurement of reinsurance (the largest single annual expense), ensuring the viability of the Production Insurance program (and fund) within the parameters of the Board approved policy, and for optimization of re-insurer relationships.
In this role, you will:
- Provide expert strategic advice for analysis and recommendations to the CFO regarding the annual or multi-year procurement of private reinsurance.
- Develop strategy to effectively communicate and position Agricorp to the reinsurance industry in a changing and complex agricultural sector.
- Be responsible for the procurement and contracting processes and relationship management with reinsurance brokers including review of quality, costs of service, negotiation of services and effective day-to-day relationship with reinsurers.
- Be the key contributor and active member of the Enterprise Risk Assessment Committee by providing support and developing agendas that ensure that all risk items are considered and reviewed by the committee on a timely basis.
- Develop and lead the annual risk assessment process ensuring that both the likelihood and impact of risks to the organization are considered.
- Ensure corporate commitment to the annual risk review and ensure the organization at all levels comply with this process including ongoing monitoring and reporting.
- Ensure program procedures with respect to risk management activities, as outlined in program service level agreements with federal and provincial stakeholders, are established and adhered to.
- Work with management within Program Development and Program Delivery to ensure that issues regarding program risk are addressed.
- As the primary point of contact for audit vendors, work collaboratively with management, prepare the internal audit plan for approval by the board, considering an overall risk analysis and facilitate the execution of the plan.
- Provide leadership in the ongoing Business Continuity Plan by ensuring that the plan is kept current, plan is tested, and is adapted to changing processes and requirements.
- Provide leadership in annual attestation process and Freedom of Information processing along with oversight and support for Privacy Officer.
- Provide leadership, coaching and training to all managers across Agricorp, including identifying and mitigating impact of change, on topics of risk management including the Enterprise Risk Assessment Committee, the Business Continuity Plan, and Agricorp policy and practices to support enhanced collaboration and internal customer service.
- Provide leadership to the risk management team, maintain effective performance management routines, including aligning training and development; and provide coaching to team members for improved performance and individual development.
- Prepare regular update material for the reinsurers regarding crop conditions, loss estimates, and program changes.
- Develop material and participate in the annual training for the board on reinsurance.
- Ensure the Senior Management Team and board are kept well-informed of industry activity, standards and changes relative to industry risk, reinsurance, program risk, and stakeholder’s relationship management.
Job status: Permanent
**Salary**: $97,899 - $115,175
Work status: Full time in office, hybrid, remote (in office as required) work arrangements are available

***Qualifications***:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience, required
- Audit, risk management experience, required
- Management/leadership experience (e.g. providing work direction, coaching, and development), required
- Demonstrated ability to network and build relationships, required
- Experience with business continuity planning, preferred
- Experience working in an internal audit function, preferred
- 8-10 years’ experience in the agriculture industry, an asset
- Knowledge of Production Insurance fundamentals and processes, an asset
- Knowledge of program agreements and OPS Directives and Guidelines, an asset
