Reporting directly to the Plant Manager for Guelph operations in our Pumps Division the Plant Projects Group Manager will manage a team of resources responsible for the project and order execution with values up to 6 million USD. The projects are designed and manufactured in-house, which range from small skid packages to large highly engineered compressor or vacuum packages for a multitude of industries. They will take ownership of the entire project lifecycle from pre-award alignment to execution and project closeout. The success of the project is measured by safety, client satisfaction, completed contractual requirements, company profitability, and on-time delivery.
**Responsibilities**:
**Manager Responsibilities**:
- Sets project groups' yearly performance goals in alignment with plant and platform strategy.
- Assessing and managing talent, and providing development plans.
- Ensuring the team is trained on required local, regional, and platform training.
- Works together with plant leadership to align priorities and provide input into operations.
- Enhances customer experience by monitoring customer moods.
- Takes responsibility for the project’s portfolio financial performance, and provides timely and transparent updates to key stakeholders.
- Establishes financial forecasts and drives adherences for cash, revenue, cost, and margin targets.
- SME for supporting the development of execution strategy of pre-award projects.
- Manages resources to optimally execute backlog and forecasted work.
- Manages the project team in alignment with the PMO corporate framework procedures.
- Ensures the team is timely submitting customer documentation.
**General Capabilities**:
- Establish strong client relationships and maintains those relationships through adversity.
- Leverage industry best practices and tools to ensure project financials, documentation, risk management, and schedule management adheres to key KPIs.
- Identifies problem areas, evaluates, and initiates corrective action to prevent suboptimal performance.
- Executes the project in a safe, efficient, and timely manner in accordance with the client's agreed contract and specifications.
- Ensures Flowserve’s interests are protected and contractual risk is minimized.
- Comprehends contractual conditions and technical specifications and looks for cost savings opportunities.
- Ensures clear and open communication with project team members and between the project team and functional groups, changes in the scope of work and schedule are captured in the Change Management System, and the implementation of Lessons Learned.
**Education**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or other technical disciplines.
- PMP or other project management certification is a plus
**Experience**:
- 10 + years of progressive experience in leading projects with proven success.
- Knowledge of capital projects execution, EPC projects, or other engineer-to-order project organizations.
- Experience in pumps or heavy manufacturing environments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Primavera, document control, and risk management software.
- Strong leadership experience with demonstrated history of managing teams for 3 + years in a matrixed organization, preferably in project or order execution.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills are a must.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 10%.
**Skills**:
- Excellent interpersonal, writing, and oral presentation skills in English are a must.
- Strong presentation and communications skills to effectively coordinate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational and cross-cultural skills.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize.
- Ability to work independently to design and implement business processes.
