**The Position**:
The Youth Resource Facilitator provides support services to youth in temporary Society Care, Extended Society Care, and youth who receive continued care and support (CCSY). These services are provided in the context of the Child, Youth, and Family Services Act and all related legislation, policies and procedures. The position holds primary responsibility for co-ordinating and leading Youth Works, a pre-employment development program to support youth in care in their transition to independence. The Youth Resource Facilitator will also support other programs and initiatives in the Education & Youth in Transitions Team as the need arises.

The Youth Resource Facilitator coordinates services to youth, provides information regarding community services for youth, and participates in training development and delivery through a strength base approach in partnership with staff, foster parents, service providers and the community. The Youth Resource Facilitator works in collaboration with the youth to support them in building employability skills, and accessing opportunities for internships, job placements and training supports. The position requires participation as a member of the Youth Advisory Council (YAC), and other committees as deemed relevant and as requested by the Supervisor. The Youth Resource Facilitator maintains good working relationships with the National Youth in Care Network and their provincial and local representatives, including Youth Program Coordinators from other Children’s Aid Societies. The Youth Resource Facilitator participates in any sub-committees that are identified to contribute to enhanced supports to youth.

The incumbent works flexible hours in order to meet the requirements of the programs. This will require availability on evenings and weekends.

**Qualifications**:

- BSW, MSW or Bachelor’s degree in a related field with relevant work experience.
- 2 years experience working with families and youth.
- Experience working with youth in temporary Society Care, Extended Society Care and youth who receive
- continued care and support (CCSY) is considered an asset.
- Experience with project management with a specific emphasis on event planning and delivering outcomes on
- target is considered an asset;
- Experience working on employment education and preparation an asset
- Experience with Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Adobe;
- Excellent communication skills, professional demeanor, sound judgment, and strong organizational skills;
- High level of personal accountability for the quality and impact of work;
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the culture, history and current oppressions experienced by people related to gender identity, gender expression and sexual orientation faced within the 2SLGBTQIA+ communities.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the culture, history and current oppressions experienced by Indigenous peoples and racialized communities.
- Applies anti-racist, anti-ableist, anti-colonialism, anti-heterosexism and anti-cissexism lenses to social problems.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team environment.
- A valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle are required.
