**The opportunity**

Help Manulife build a global culture and understanding for Data Governance as we work to transform how the organization uses data. This role will support the implementation, continuous improvement and management of Data Governance policies, procedures and processes for metadata management and data quality.

**Responsibilities**
- Contributes to the design and evolution of the data governance framework and operating model.
- Implements the training and communications plan including:

- Maintaining and improving the Global Data Governance SharePoint site
- Creation and maintenance of Data Governance documentation for key processes, based on input from Global Data Governance team members and Segment leads.
- Creation and maintenance of Pursuit learning for Data Governance
- Delivery of targeted communications to select audiences.
- Contribute to the design of data governance metrics, collect data and present in the Global KPIs Dashboard. Prioritize enhancements and work with the dashboard developer to implement changes.
- Support the creation and maintenance of business process flow documentation, RACIs and job aids/user guides. Contributes to global data management guidelines and standards.
- Collects and informs the business requirements for other initiatives aimed at improving adoption of data governance or improving trust in Manulife’s data.

The Global Data Governance Team works across the globe with Data Governance and Data Office team members to identify and implement Data Governance best practices, guidelines and standards. We work in a highly collaborative environment between IT, and Business teams to translate needs into action. Data Governance enables the organization easy and reliable access to high-quality data to improve business decisions and create better customer experiences.

**What we are looking for**
- Minimum 2 years' experience implementing key Data Governance processes including: identifying Critical Data Elements, Data Quality rules & remediation, and Business Glossary & Data Catalogue management.
- Self-starter, able to question the status quo, and can confidently speak up when they have an idea or when something isn't working.
- Experience with Metadata Management Tools, and Data Quality Management Tools such as such as Purview, Collibra and/or Informatica
- Strong written communication skills, and presentation skills
- Understanding and experience working with cloud-based data lakes.
- Experience working in an agile environment and working in large organizations.
- Superior problem-solving, analytical skills.
- Relationship builder, able to work collaboratively across IT, business, and third-party vendors.
