First Aid Instructor

1. Applicant must be able to complete online training modules before February 18th 2026. Interview dates will be January 19th, 20 & 21. Second round of interviews January 27.

2. Applicant must complete 2 day Intermediate First Aid class with Life Start

3. Applicant must be available for in-person training between February 27th and March 10th.

**About the Role**

We’re looking for a Full-Time First Aid Instructor to join our growing Calgary team.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in an interactive environment, enjoys teaching and connecting with people, and isn’t afraid to get hands-on (sometimes literally we spill fake blood for realism).

**Primary Responsibilities**:
**Instruction & Training Delivery**
- Deliver engaging, hands-on first aid training in accordance with Life Start standards.
- Create a welcoming, inclusive classroom environment that builds participant confidence.
- Conduct blended learning and in-person sessions, adjusting for diverse learning styles.

**Administrative & Operational Duties**
- Complete inventory checks, maintain clean training spaces, and restock supplies as needed.
- Support outreach and community engagement efforts to promote upcoming classes.

**Quality & Growth**
- Maintain up-to-date certification and adhere to all Life Start policies and procedures.
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities and audits.
- Assist in refining teaching practices and sharing feedback with the training team.

**Compensation & Bonus Structure**
- $22-$25/hour, based on experience and qualifications.
- 10% bonus on outreach or client bookings generated for private classes.
- Instructor program paid by employer
- First aid certification paid by employer
- Paid in-person training and full Instructor certification provided.
- Occasional paid travel opportunities for classes.

**Schedule**
- Four to five shifts per week
- 32-40 hours per week.
- Occasional weekend classes or travel may be required.

**Training & Start Timeline**
- Online Training: Late January
- In-Person Training: February/March (one-on-one and classroom shadowing).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills & you love connecting with people.
- Detail-oriented and organized, able to manage supplies and scheduling with ease.
- Reliable, professional, and comfortable teaching in front of groups.
- Some experience in health, education, or customer service is an asset.
- Comfortable with light travel.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
