As a Barista at our café located within a grocery store, Vicinity Mart, in North Vancouver, you will play a key role in providing exceptional customer service and crafting high-quality coffee beverages. You will greet customers, take orders, prepare and serve beverages, and maintain a clean and inviting café environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your passion for coffee and interact with customers in a dynamic setting.

**Responsibilities**:

- Greet customers warmly and take their orders with a friendly and engaging demeanor.
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, including espresso-based drinks, brewed coffee, and specialty drinks, according to established recipes and quality standards.
- Operate espresso machines, coffee grinders, and other café equipment with precision and care.
- Steam milk and foam for cappuccinos, lattes, and other espresso-based beverages.
- Handle cash and process transactions accurately using a point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Upsell café products, such as pastries, sandwiches, and snacks, to enhance the customer experience.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the café area, including beverage preparation stations, countertops, and dining tables.
- Restock café supplies, such as coffee beans, syrups, cups, lids, and napkins, as needed.
- Follow food safety procedures and adhere to health and safety regulations.
- Provide friendly and efficient service while ensuring customer satisfaction and resolving any customer concerns or complaints promptly.

Qualifications:

- Previous experience as a barista or in a similar customer service role is preferred.
- Knowledge of coffee brewing techniques, espresso preparation, and beverage customization.
- Passion for coffee and a desire to learn about different coffee varieties and flavor profiles.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with customers in a positive and professional manner.
- Strong multitasking abilities and the capacity to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and follow instructions effectively.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Food Safe certification or willingness to obtain certification is an asset.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada.

Work Schedule:
The work schedule will vary based on business needs, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Shifts typically range between 6:00 AM and 10:00 PM.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.75-$19.60 per hour

Expected hours: 18 - 20 per week
