The Wireless Specialist is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of wireless telecommunications systems and networks. This role involves troubleshooting wireless network issues, ensuring optimal performance, and staying updated with the latest technologies in the telecom industry. The Wireless Specialist works closely with engineers, technicians, and management to support wireless communications infrastructure, including cellular networks, Wi-Fi, and other radio-based systems.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Network Design and Implementation**
- Design, implement and configure wireless communication networks
- Work with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy wireless infrastructure to meet organizational needs.
- Perform network planning and frequency management to ensure optimal coverage and capacity.

**System Maintenance and Troubleshooting**
- Monitor the performance of wireless networks, identifying and resolving issues to ensure optimal functionality and mínimal downtime.
- Perform regular maintenance and upgrades to wireless network systems and devices.
- Analyze system logs, conduct tests, and use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot hardware and software issues.

**Optimization and Performance Management**
- Optimize wireless network performance through analysis and tuning of system components such as routers, switches, antennas.
- Implement solutions to improve coverage, reduce latency, and enhance signal quality.
- Work on network capacity planning, evaluating data traffic trends, and recommending improvements.

**Security and Compliance**
- Ensure wireless network security by implementing encryption, access controls, and security protocols.
- Monitor for and respond to network security breaches or vulnerabilities.
- Maintain compliance with industry standards.

**Documentation and Reporting**
- Document network configurations, installations, and maintenance procedures.
- Provide reports on network performance, issues, and upgrades to management and stakeholders.
- Maintain detailed records of work completed, including troubleshooting steps and resolutions.

**Vendor and Stakeholder Coordination**
- Work with vendors and service providers to procure necessary equipment, services, or software for the network.
- Collaborate with other departments and external stakeholders to align wireless telecom needs with business goals.

**Research and Innovation**
- Stay current with emerging wireless technologies, trends, and best practices.
- Evaluate new products and services that could improve wireless network performance and capabilities.
- Participate in technology trials and pilot programs for new wireless systems.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in telecommunications, electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., iBwave, Pathloss, Romes, Nemo) are a plus.
- 3-5 years of experience in wireless telecommunications, network design, and support roles.
- Technical Skills:

- Proficiency in wireless communication technologies.
- Experience with network management tools, such as RF planning software, network monitoring systems, and diagnostic tools.
- Understanding of routing and switching technologies.
- Knowledge of wireless security protocols and practices.
- Soft Skills:

- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in teams.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.

Work Environment:

- This role may require fieldwork, including site surveys, equipment installations, and network testing.
- Occasional travel may be required to different locations or network sites.
- Working hours may vary, including on-call duties for network troubleshooting and emergencies.

Pay: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
