**About the Role**
**As the Farm Operations and Team Development Lead, you’ll operate a “business within a business,” taking ownership of human resources, team development, and cultural alignment to ensure Walker Farms remains a workplace of integrity, innovation, and respect. You’ll empower team members to take initiative, contribute value, and grow as leaders while ensuring operational excellence through task and project follow-ups.**
**Key Responsibilities**
**-Build Human Capital: Recruit, onboard, and develop talent, ensuring alignment with Walker Farms’ values of Relentlessness, Respect, and Stewardship.**
**-Foster Team Culture: Cultivate a self-managing culture where team members act autonomously, resolve conflicts respectfully, and embody the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.**
**-Develop Leaders: Identify and nurture leadership potential, providing opportunities for growth, innovation, and accountability.**
**-Manage Hiring and Firing: Oversee the full hiring process, from job postings to interviews, and handle performance-based terminations with professionalism and transparency.**
**-Set and Track Results: Assign and follow up on Tasks, Responsibilities, and Rocks (value-adding initiatives) weekly, ensuring clarity, ownership, and completion.**
**-Reward Value Creation: Evaluate and reward staff based on the value they create through consistent performance in Tasks, Responsibilities, and Rocks.**
**-Support Operational Excellence: Collaborate with operators to ensure tasks align with farm priorities.**
**-Drive Innovation: Encourage team members to propose and prove innovative solutions that align with nature, technology, and experience, contributing to our regenerative agriculture mission.**
**-Uphold Non-Negotiables: Enforce standards such as maintaining equipment “fire truck ready,” adhering to safety protocols (e.g., driving farm vehicles at 60 km/h on gravel roads), and ensuring professional conduct.**
**Qualifications**
**-Proven experience in human resources, team development, or organizational leadership, preferably in agriculture or a self-managing environment.**
**-Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to listen, resolve conflicts, and foster respectful relationships with team members, the community, and stakeholders.**
**-Solution-focused mindset with a relentless drive to achieve results and overcome challenges.**
**-Ability to manage multiple priorities, track tasks, and ensure accountability in a fast-paced work environment.**
**-Commitment to regenerative principles and a passion for leaving the land better for future generations.**
**-Familiarity with performance-based reward systems and experience evaluating individual contributions.**
