Job Title: Crisis Intervention Worker
Reports To: Victim Services Manager
Hours of Work: 20 hours per month / With possibility of increasing.
Job Summary
The role of the Crisis intervention worker of the Vegreville Crisis Association is to: provide excellent and outstanding support to individuals experiencing domestic Violence, develop program skills to help support Volunteer activities, supports the outreach activities of the program, and complete other assigned tasks.
**Responsibilities**:
- Provide telephone support, information and referrals to clients accessing the 24/7 crisis help line.
- Provide excellent case management skills by demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of violence against women, danger assessment, safety planning, trauma-informed care and harm reduction.
- Coordinating the preparation of resource and information packages for clients and volunteers
- Provide emergency shelter orientation, support, and crisis intervention from an empathic and non-judgmental stance to all individuals seeking services.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive written documentation of client interactions.
- Provide information to clients regarding financial resources and assistance available to them through community resources and social agencies.
- Represent Crisis Association of Vegreville (CAV) at appropriate community tables
- Promoting the program with the public through appearances at various community events
- Ensuring file details and statistical information is entered into the tracking system.
- Demonstrate professionalism and a willingness to collaborate with community partners through investment in the development of working relationships.
- Recommending changes to program policies, or procedures to ensure operations run efficiently and effectively.
- Act professionally and respectfully in all matters associated with this position, whether towards clients, colleagues, members of the public and the members of the Board of Directors.
- 2 days per week in the office unless otherwise assigned by Program Manager.
Education, Certification and Skill Requirements:
- Certificate, Diploma or Degree in Social Sciences or High School Diploma plus Experience.
- Completion of Reliable Security Clearance
- Maintain Critical Incident Stress Management and ASIST training
- Complete the Trauma Informed Care training and Self Harm training
- Ability to work in crisis situations
- Conflict resolution skills
- Problem solving skills
- Demonstrate excellent data entry skills with Microsoft office
**Job Type**: Casual
**Salary**: $15.00-$22.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Day shift
- Evenings
- Evening shift
- Morning shift
- Night shift
- Weekend availability
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Vegreville, AB T9C 1S7: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
