**Steele Mitsubishi Halifax has an immediate requirement for an Accounting Clerk to join our team.**

As an Accounting Clerk, you will take pride in your attention to detail, be self-motivated and have excellent time management skills. Reporting directly to the dealership Controller, you will have the unique opportunity to develop accounting skills exclusive to the automotive industry.

**Responsibilities include but are not limited to**:

- Analyze monthly accounts payable reports against actual statements
- Instigate the necessary action to rectify outstanding balance of accounts payable to vendors
- Review and prepare EFT/Cheque payments to vendors and dealerships twice per month and as required, while ensuring payments are made as due
- Match purchases to order invoice
- Accurately post into accounts payable invoices as received
- Return any unapproved invoices to the given department
- Ensure all safety policy and procedures in accordance with IAPA, WHIMS and SAG are adhered to
- Provide prompt, professional, and courteous service to our vendors
- Other duties as required

**Requirements**:

- Post-secondary education in accounting
- 1 -2 years experience in an accounting role
- Strong organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Knowledge of computerized accounting systems is considered an asset.
