2171449 Alberta Ltd is recruiting on behalf of our client, Holiday Inn Edmonton South - Evario Events - The First H4 property with Conferencing and Banqueting facilities in Canada with state of the art rooms, Lobby restaurant & bar, a 20,000 sq ft banqueting and conferencing facilities. We are looking for YOU to join our team.
The Housekeeping Manager will assist the Head Housekeeper in the efficient operation of the Housekeeping Department. This position will be responsible for ensuring that the cleaning standards for all guest and public areas of the hotel are consistently adhered to. This position will also be responsible for maintaining a positive work environment in the Housekeeping area while maintaining high internal/external customer service standards.
**Responsibilities**:
- Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Housekeeping Department
- Assist in recruiting and retaining a strong service oriented team
- Supervise all housekeeping employees to ensure guests receive the highest standard of cleanliness and service
- Conduct guest room and public area inspections
- Monitor and manage labour efficiencies and all other departmental costs
- Ordering of departmental supplies and conduct monthly linen inventories
- Scheduling for Room Attendants, Public Area cleaners and Laundry staff
- Maintain proper lost and found procedures.
- Assist in training of new team members
- Ensures a safe work environment is maintained at all times and that all Housekeeping team members are committed to working safely.
- Ensures rooms are set up according to established standards prior to the guest arrival
- Communicate regularly with the Front Office team to ensure smooth, efficient processes and communication between teams; Liaise with Maintenance regarding guest rooms and public space deficiencies.
- Issues daily work assignments and special instructions to the Housekeeping Team
- Conducts end of shift inspections to ensure that public areas are in compliance with established standards
- Other duties as assigned by the Head Housekeeper
- Perform opening and closing Supervisory duties.
- In the absence of the Head Housekeeper, you are responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Housekeeping Department, and may be responsible for Housekeeping scheduling and operations.
- Maintain proper lost and found procedures, as set out for the department.
- Participating in Internal meetings, Health and Safety. Monthly or weekly meeting to ensure the smooth working operation.
- Report to manager regarding day to day activities, especially in their absence.
- Participate in coaching and learning procedures of the Housekeeping Team.

- Flexibility - day, evening, night, weekend and holiday shifts are all part of the job.
