As a **Systems Quality Specialist**, you will be a key hands-on expert within our **Apps/Tech team**, **reporting to the Software Team Lead**. You will be a true advocate for the end-user, ensuring our software is rock-solid before it reaches our customers. You will join a balanced team, collaborating closely with developers to guard our product quality. **Core Responsibilities** **Quality Assurance & Test Execution**: - Triage, validate, and reproduce reported issues; clearly document bug reports and verify fixes from the development team, sending work tickets back to development when necessary. - Design, execute, and maintain comprehensive test plans for our front-end software, SDKs, and backend features. - Act as the team's network specialist, using tools like Wireshark and TCPdump to analyze network packets, diagnose communication flaws, and find bugs that others can't. - Proactively develop and maintain Python scripts to automate stability, performance, and data validation tasks. - Leverage modern AI tools and techniques to enhance testing effectiveness and efficiency. **Collaboration & Process**: - Work closely with developers to understand new features, identify risks, improve test coverage, and reduce "escape bugs." - Demonstrate strong ownership, driving complex testing projects to completion. - Mentor other team members and lead peer reviews on test plans and bug reports. - Proactively contribute to and implement continuous improvement initiatives in our QA processes. **What You Need to Be Successful (Qualifications)** **Must-Have Qualifications**: - Extensive (5+ years) professional experience as a Quality Analyst for a complex hardware/software product. - Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. - Strong Python scripting skills used for test support, data validation, or creating automation tools. - Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, packet flow). - Direct, hands-on experience with network analysis tools like Wireshark. - Direct experience testing and debugging industrial control protocols (e.g., Modbus, PROFINET, Ethernet IP) OR similar complex communication protocols. - A meticulous, proactive, and collaborative mindset. - Ability to work our hybrid schedule (a consistent 3+ days per week) from our Burnaby, BC office. **Please Note**: - This role does not require C/C++ or C# development skills. - This is not a pure Software Development Engineer in Test role focused on building and maintaining automation frameworks from scratch. - This is not focused on CI/CD pipeline management or DevOps. **Preferred Qualifications (Assets)**: - Network certification (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CCNA) is a major plus. - Experience in metrology, 3D vision, industrial automation, or a related field. **What We Offer** - Health Benefits: Full health care coverage (with 100% paid premiums) including dental, vision, and drugs for you and your family. - Financial Perks: A competitive Profit Sharing Program, a Group Retirement Savings Plan, and a monthly internet allowance depending on the location. - Work-Life Balance: We support a healthy balance with hybrid work arrangements, flextime, and generous paid time off. - Growth & Development: An annual Education Support Program for training and professional growth, plus annual performance reviews and Lunch & Learns. - Enjoy free healthy snacks and drinks, team-building budgets, tenure awards, and our official "May the 4th" (Star Wars Day) company holiday - Access to an on-site fitness facility, tennis/basketball court, and company-wide wellness challenges. - Please note that financial relocation assistance and immigration sponsorship are not available for this position. wYFHR4NhK8
