A Bread Affair is actively looking for 1 individual to assist our Pastry Chefs to keep the kitchen humming. Working in our Granville Island bakery, you would be working directly with our talented Pastry Chefs who are producing pastry products using organic and locally sourced ingredients from the rich food lands of British Columbia and beyond. What you need to be successful: - Love of innovation and being on the cutting edge; - Proven agility and responsiveness for a fast paced environment - Strong finishing skills for our selections of sandwiches, - Efficient and creative problem solver. You are always looking for ways to improve systems and processes. - Flexible and committed to "no-such-thing-as-not-my-job" - Creativity and joy in solving problems; - Strong interpersonal skills both for teamwork and customer service, with equal ability to work independently. - a good sense of humour; - High School Diploma (or equivalent combination of education, experience, and demonstrated ability to follow-through.) This is a daytime position and you will be home for family nightly. Shifts start at either 7:00 or 8:00 or 9:00 am. The bakery is open 7 days a week and we will specifically require you to be available on the Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The working environment is supportive and skills upgrades are encouraged and paid for by the bakery. **Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent Pay: $17.40-$18.50 per hour **Benefits**: - Casual dress - Company events - Dental care - Discounted or free food - Extended health care - Store discount Schedule: - 8 hour shift - Day shift - Holidays - Weekends as needed Ability to commute/relocate: - Vancouver, BC V6H 3S2: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred) Application question(s): - Are you available to work on Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays specifically? - This is a part-time position with only 3 shifts per week, as mentioned in the job description.
