Holloway Paving is a Calgary based company seeking to hire an **experienced** breakdown/ finish asphalt roller operator to join our crew for the 2025 season (May - November each year).

As a Breakdown/Finish Asphalt Roller Operator, you will be integral to our construction team, responsible for the operation of heavy equipment to ensure smooth and efficient paving processes. Reporting to the Site Supervisor, you will utilize your core skills in construction while demonstrating mechanical knowledge to maintain equipment. Your relevant experience as an asphalt roller operator will enhance project outcomes. A valid Class 5 Licence is required for this role, as you will navigate to various job sites to deliver high-quality asphalt finishes. Join us to contribute to impactful asphalt paving projects.

**Responsibilities**
- Operate efficiently various sizes and weights of roller compactors to compact soil, gravel or hot mix asphalt
- Prepare and maintain work sites by clearing debris and ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Operate and perform routine maintenance on equipment when required including greasing, refueling, changing oil and filters and maintaining fluid levels.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor issues with machinery.
- Operate other equipment as required on site preparation days.
- Other general labourer duties as required such as equipment and site cleaning, raking or shovelling, barricade and cone placement, operation of small power tools, etc.
- Adhere to Holloway Paving's health & safety program.

Qualifications:

- a valid Class 5 Driver's License
- your own transportation to meet at the yard or site
- CSA Steel Toed boots
- physical stamina and preparedness for hot outdoor temperatures
- the ability to communicate and work well as a team
- willingness to work outside of Calgary on occasion
- willingness to work on site preparation days and learn new tasks
- adherence to our health and safety policy
- valid tickets and training such as First Aid & CPR Level C, CSTS, WHMIS are an asset

This position can be physically demanding and may require lifting, crouching and bending for long periods of time.

Hourly rate will be determined by your level of experience.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 5 months

Pay: $32.00-$35.00 per hour
