**Who We Are**
- PeaceGeeks is a non-profit organization that builds digital tools to foster greater connection, peace and safety for people who have been displaced and newcomers to Canada. We are based in Vancouver, Canada, and Amman, Jordan.
**Position Overview**
- The Community Digital Research Officer is an exciting and unique position, working on a national digital mentorship research project, funded by the Mariam Assefa Fund, and in partnership with Immigrant Networks.
- Between 2018 and 2021, PeaceGeeks initiated a MentorApp research and pilot project, funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada. Our aim was to understand current mentorship experiences, in order to co-create and test a digital platform that strengthens newcomers’ access to relevant employment Mentors.
- The Snapp (Skilled Newcomers and Professionals Partnership) project aimed to:
- Create better employment outcomes for newcomers through easier access to mentors with a relevant background and experience.
- Build settlement sector knowledge, collaboration, and capacity around accessible
- Mentoring.
With the support of the Mariam Assefa Fund, PeaceGeeks will be engaging six settlement agencies in BC, Alberta and Ontario to test a digital mentorship platform. The research will explore, together with settlement partners, barriers to shared platforms, and explore the use of a digital mentorship platform developed by Immigrant Networks.
**The Things You Love Doing**
- Reporting to the CEO, the Digital Research Officer is responsible for the following:
- Project Manager of the Immentor project. Follow and further develop draft timeline to meet all project deliverables
- Compile and write related project and learning reports, including the final report, and learning briefs during the phases of the project
- Act as primary point of contact and liaison between project stakeholders: Immigrant Networks, PeaceGeeks, primary Settlement organizations, and newcomers
- Outreach to settlement sector partners to identify 6 organizations across 3 provinces that will participate in the one-year learning project.
- Prepare interview protocol for KIIs and Focus Group Discussions
- Summarize interviews
- Attend project meetings
- Create participant interview protocols based on project testing framework, to map gaps and opportunities for Immentor to augment SPOs existing mentorship program or as a new stand-alone mentorship offering
- Contribute to funding proposals to expand pilot project
- Attend meetings and help the team with administrative and additional tasks as requested
**The Things You Bring To Us**
- A graduate degree (MA, MS, MPhil); PhD preferred
- A minimum of 3 years of Qualitative Research experience, with strong research skills, including research methods, data compilation, coding and analysis
- Strong English professional writing/research report writing experience
- Demonstrates excellent verbal communication skills, teamwork, and collaboration with diverse external stakeholder groups
- Passionate about technology and knowledgeable about migration or refugee issues; past experience working in an NGO, nonprofit or community organization is an asset
- Comfortable working individually, and virtually, fluent in online work
- Consistently looks for ways to help support different operational functions
- Creative, detailed and analytical thinker
- Comfortable adapting to a dynamic work environment
- Takes initiative and can start and complete tasks with basic direction
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines
- Experience with Google Drive, Slack, and research platforms like Qualtrics, Nvivo, MAXQDA.
- Grant writing or fundraising experience is an asset
- UX/UI design experience is an asset
- Demonstrated experience with digital transformation, or change management is an asset

**Salary**
$60,000 - 65,000 per annum dependent on experience
