**Position Profile**:
Legal Counsel - Responsible for legal services, contracts and compliance matters. Please note this is a one-year contract opportunity.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Draft, review, negotiate and manage a broad array of commercial agreements, including aircraft, aftermarket and MRO sales and operational agreements
- Drafting and implementation of governance & compliance policies and procedures
- Intellectual property management and protection
- Litigation and dispute management
- Drafting and review of real estate, banking, credit and human resource contracts and agreements
- Supporting and liaising with all business functions to ensure that our contracts reflect our business objectives
- Risk assessment and risk management

**Education and Experience**:

- Law degree and member in good standing with a provincial law society
- Minimum 3-5 years of corporate & commercial law experience; Prior in-house experience would be an asset but not necessary

**Skills**:

- Strong legal and contract technical skills
- Ability to work independently as the sole legal resource supporting our business functions in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to negotiate to accomplish DHC's business objectives
- Capable of breaking down complex legal problems into a form that can be understood by our commercial teams
- Strong understanding of the aviation and aerospace industry
