Food Safety Coordinator

**We are looking for**:
On behalf of our client - Spring Creek Quail Farms is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an **Food Safety Coordinator.** This role is instrumental in ensuring the safety and quality of our food products through the implementation and maintenance of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) systems.

**What we offer**:
- Salary - $55,000 - $70,000 per year based on experience and skills.
- Monday-Friday, no weekends, no nights, 40- 45 hrs average / week

**What we need from you**:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Experience in a similar role within the food production or processing industry.
- Certifications in HACCP or SQF or related fields with a strong understanding of food safety regulations.
**What you will do**:
- Maintain and develop HACCP and SQF programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Act as a primary liaison with the CFIA Inspection and with 3rd party auditing agencies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional managers and teams to establish and enforce food safety policies and procedures in egg grading and packing, meat slaughter and processing and egg processing plants
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess the effectiveness of HACCP and SQF systems.
- Provide training to employees on food safety practices and ensure ongoing awareness.
- Collaborate with suppliers and external partners to ensure the quality and safety of incoming raw materials.
- Investigate and address any food safety incidents or non-conformities promptly.
- Ensure timely closure to necessary corrective action items associated with any 3rd party, internal or CFIA audits.

Founded in 2002, our small but mighty farm has grown to become one of the largest producers of quail eggs in North America. Our all-natural eggs are laid by healthy and happy hens, with no antibiotics or hormones.
We believe quail are a healthier, happier bird than chickens — and their eggs should be available to more people. Today, Spring Creek Quail Farms ships millions of fresh quail eggs to hundreds of local supermarkets across Canada and the United States. In addition, we are a producer of pickled quail eggs and fresh quail meat.
Pay: $55,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
