Asphalt Rake Labour

**Job Summary**
We are seeking a **Rough Rake Labourer** to join our paving crew. In this role, you will be responsible for spreading, leveling, and smoothing asphalt using hand tools such as lutes and rakes, ensuring proper depth, grade, and finish before compaction. You will work closely with the paver operator and crew to maintain surface quality, perform handwork in tight areas, and assist with general site tasks. This is a physically demanding, outdoor position requiring attention to detail, teamwork, and adherence to safety standards. Consistent seasonal work with potential overtime is available.

**Duties** ：

Use lutes, rakes, and other hand tools to spread and level asphalt material.

Ensure proper depth, grade, and finish of asphalt before compaction.

Assist the paver operator by smoothing joints and edges, and correcting imperfections in the mat.

Work closely with the paving crew to maintain consistent workflow and surface quality.

Perform handwork in tight or hard-to-reach areas that machines cannot access.

Follow all safety guidelines and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Maintain tools and equipment in clean and functional condition.

Assist with general site cleanup and other labour duties as needed.

**Requirements**:
Prior experience in asphalt paving or related construction work preferred.

Familiarity with hand tools used in paving, including asphalt lutes and rakes.

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow direction precisely.

Physically fit and able to work in demanding outdoor conditions.

Team-oriented with good communication skills.

Valid driver’s license preferred.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.

Prolonged standing, walking, bending, and repetitive motion.

Work in various outdoor conditions, including heat and noise.

Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
