Ground Worker

**Grounds Person**

Join our team Ballantrae Tree Care is a growing Arboriculture company in York Region. We are looking for a ground person to support the lead-arborist on job sites. This is a seasonal fulltime position.

**Duties**
- Chainsaw and Chipper operation/loading brush - training included
- Assist lead-arborist in job site setup, debris removal, cleanup and equipment maintenance.
- Raking up/ leaf blowing job sites.
- Rigging down limbs - training included
- Loading and unloading equipment
- General tasks (vehicles cleaned, washed, equipment inspection, saws sharpened, firewood production)

**Position Requirements**
- Can lift a minimum of 50 pounds
- Able to arrive on time with a professional appearance, positive attitude, eagerness to work, fit for work and fully equipped.
- Capable of performing physically demanding manual labour in a variety of weather conditions.
- Able to perform/ be trained in ground support operations such as, but not limited to, rigging, cutting, brush management and chipping, site clean-up, leaving site as it was when you arrived.

**Education/Assets**
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Valid provincial driver's license. Class G license and clean driver abstract.
- Chainsaw training or certification is an asset.
- Interest in arboriculture is an asset
- Previous landscape/horticulture experience considered an asset
- Ability to work safely as part of a team and has a willingness to learn and progress.
- First Aid/CPR considered an asset.

**Additional Information**
- 40 hours or more per week (depending on weather and season) the days vary from 8 - 10 hour days, Monday - Friday.
- Typical Start time: 6AM in Ballantrae, ON
- Seasonal Worker (Spring, Summer, Fall)

**Wage** Based on experience $19.00 to $24.00 per hour

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00-$23.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
