**Position Summary**:
We are currently recruiting a Food Safety Lab Technician who is responsible for providing technical support in laboratory analysis, maintaining documentation of these activities.

**Duties**:

- Conduct microbiological, chemical, allergen and sensory testing
- Perform production line audit checking to ensure the integrity of the product
- Perform raw materials and finished product inspections for quality including Kosher, packaging, CoA, sampling and testing
- Perform sanitation verification and validation testing.
- Follow and practice GMPs and HACCP protocols. Ensure GMPs are maintained by production and warehouse employees.
- Perform calibration checks of lab and processing/packaging equipment such as thermometers and weighing scales.
- Undertake internal audits and plant inspections
- Assist in customer complaint investigations
- Ensures Company Health and Safety standards are met and maintained
- Ensures Company Food Safety (BRC/HACCP) Standards are met and maintained
- Ensures adherence to all Company policies and procedures
- Report potential hazards and unsafe work conditions.
- Other duties as assigned by HACCP/BRC Coordinator or QA Manager.

**Skills**:

- Laboratory Technician / Assistant Diploma / Certificate
- Knowledge of GFSI an asset
- Previous food handling experience/training
- WHMIS certification
- Good time management skills, ability to work independently
- Some mechanical aptitude an asset
- Ability to use problem-solving skills, be resourceful in finding solutions
- Fluent written/verbal communication skills in the English language

8 hour shift, Monday through Friday.

CSA-approved steel-toed boots are a requirement.

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
