**JOB TITLE**: Corporate Health and Safety Officer

**REPORTS TO**: President

**DIRECT REPORTS**: Safety Officers at each Job Site

**ROLE**:To protect Workers’ health and safety by ensuring risks in the workplace are diminished or eliminated and to ensure the Company is in compliance with all pertaining health and safety legislation.

**DUTIES**:

- Provide leadership to all Workers in the support of, and execution of ,the overall safety culture and profile
- Conduct regular site visits: Collaborate with PMs and Site Supervisors to ensure compliance with safety regulations and adherence to Company safety standards; provide support as needed
- Oversee, collaborate and support Safety Officers at all Company job sites in BC and Alberta
- Identify safety training needs; organize and co-ordinate safety training courses with reputable providers; ensure transferrable credits
- Maintain and update Training matrix
- Maintain job site and office emergency response plans for fire, natural disasters and other major events
- JOSH meeting management
- Keep abreast of HSE regulatory changes; disseminate information to Company management and Workers (e.g. hazardous materials, RAT, scaffolding, working at heights, rigging, confined spaces)
- Maintain updates for the Company HSE manual and related documents
- Prequalification Completion for new clients
- Manage Company membership accounts with the various industrial safety organizations ( ISNetworld, CQN (Canqual) PICS, COMPLYWORKS, BROWZ); ensure all company statistics and information is updated in order to maintain good standing
- NOP risk assessment and submission for all projects (needs qualified person)
- Safe Work Plan creation support and reviews for all job sites
- Safe Work Procedures creation support and reviews for all job sites (including Asbestos and NOP)
- Site Specific Exposure Control Programs
- PPE Programs (respiratory, confined spaces, rigging, fall restraint, etc.)
- Tract data from safety reports; maintain loss time statistics and prepare quarterly reports; monitor trends
- Respond to and investigate concerns/complaints from workers/supervisors and facilitate the appropriate action
- Identify unsafe acts, conditions, and hazards, investigate root causes, identify corrective and preventative actions and together with Supervisors and Managers concerned, formulate a plan of action to correct non-compliant behaviour or conditions
- Claims management for Injured Workers
- Create Modified Duties and Return to Work plans for injured Workers
- Conduct Internal COR Audits and prepare sites
- Ensure COR compliance for BC and Alberta
- Act as Company lead for External COR audits
- PPE Inventory; Maintenance; Log
- Achieve and Maintain RCSO accreditation

**Knowledge, Skills, Experience**:

- NCSO accreditation
- 5-10 years industry related experience
- Thorough knowledge of relevant BC and Alberta safety, security and environmental legislation
- Thorough knowledge of COR program - ESC preferred
- Thorough knowledge of WHMIS regulations
- Working knowledge of various safety systems
- Implementation, administration and maintenance of safety systems
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skill sets
- Strong English communication skills
- Computer experience: MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; ability to travel on a regular basis

**Salary**: $60,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
