**ABOUT THIS CAREER OPPORTUNITY**:

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Prepare quotes by sourcing material and contacting customers
- Prepare estimates of cost of materials, labour and equipment for projects based on contract bids, quotations, schematic drawings and specifications
- Coordinate price packages with suppliers, subcontracteors, owners, designers and architects regarding tenders
- Participate in site review, tender review, tender hand-off, project closing and operational/sector meetings with various stakeholders as required - i.e. senior estimator, operational staff and purchasing
- Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors
- Assist with consulting and communicating with engineers, architects, owners, contractor and subcontractors as well as prepare economic feasibility studies on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
- Assist with material and equipment purchasing for secured jobs.
- Update and maintain estimating database.

**EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS**:

- Degree or Diploma in electrical engineerings, mechanical engineering, estimating, project management, construction engineering technology, or related field.
- Applicable experience as a tradesperson may substitute for education requirements.

**WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS**:

- No experience is required for CET, EET, B.Eng (Mech) or B.Eng (Elec) graduate
- 1-3 years' experience in estimating mechanical/electrical projects is considered an asset.

**SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS**:

- Proficient user of MS Office (Word, Excel, Project)
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Highly detail-oriented self-starter
- Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
