**About the Role**
**How you will make a difference**
- Concept and create new designs for new and existing products, provide revisions to engineering drawings, models and documentation, and correct problems based on field and manufacturing feedback.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure design intent is well communicated and constructive feedback is gathered.
- Identify product/service innovations and help develop them into solutions that meet technical requirements.
- Test proof of concepts and prototypes to provide input into the design cycle and de-risk the proposed solutions.
- Initiate, encourage and participate in peer reviews of drawings and designs.
- Release product updates and provide manufacturing engineering support.
- Assist in producing production documentation and control.
**Key Skills and Experience**
- Sc. or college diploma in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- 5+ years Design experience, preferably in product development, robotics, and/or automation, with the ability create, revise, and maintain design documentation based on internal and external customer requirements.
- Expert level knowledge of weldments, sheet metal, machined and molded components, assemblies and drawings.
- Hands-on experience with building and repairing complex mechanical assemblies.
- Hands-on experience with building and troubleshooting electrical systems.
- 5+ years experience with parametric 3D CAD packages such as Solidworks or Onshape.
**Nice to Have**
- Experienced in manufacturing processes, material selection and design for manufacturability, especially sheet metal, roto-molding, vacuum forming and other plastics processes.
- Experience designing industrial machines.
