Position: Evening Staff/Security Guard

**JOB SPECIFICATION**
**Position**:Client Support Worker

1 year term with possibility of extension

**Organization Relationships**:Reports to Executive Director of The Leduc Hub

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Supervise shelter and clients overnight
- Monitor perimeter cameras and clients
- Contribute to a positive working environment for clients, staff and volunteers.
- Implement, and uphold agency policies and procedures.
- Maintain absolute confidentiality of information, written or verbal, according to Leduc Hub policy and legal requirements.
- Consistent, reliable, and predictable attendance.
- Ability to work within the mission, vision & values of The Leduc Hub Association
- Use a client-centered approach by consistently demonstrating compassion, respect and empathy
- Performs internal and external security checks, and reports any concerns
- Work in partnership with senior staff and perform duties as assigned
- Guide and assist clients with community living skills
- Talk to and interact with residents respectfully; be knowledgeable of and sensitive to clients verbal and nonverbal communication.
- Interact professionally and appropriately with clients

**EXPERIENCE**:

- Minimum three years of related experience demonstrating creative problem solving, conflict resolution, de escalation skills, communication and decision making skills. Experience working one-on-one with individuals, as well as working as a team.
- Experience working with a diverse population that may be experiencing mental health, poverty, homelessness and/or addictions issues. Must be able to maintain healthy boundaries, and communicate care.
- Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check is required.

**Education**

Suicide intervention, trauma informed care, crisis counseling, mental health first aid, standard first aid as well as security training are assets.

**Hours**

Shift Work (4 on 2 off) 6pm-2am & 1am-9am

**Wage**

$20 /Hour plus Benefits

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 37-40 per week

**Salary**: $20.00 per hour
