Independent Commercial Cleaner

**About the Role**:
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Cleaning & Janitorial Duties** (performed daily, weekly, and monthly as required):

- Clean and disinfect lobbies, entrances, hallways, stairwells, elevator interiors, and washrooms
- Vacuum, sweep, and mop all floor surfaces; spot-clean carpets
- Wipe down glass, windows, doors, fixtures, mirrors, baseboards, and elevator panels
- Empty garbage and recycling bins and maintain compactor and waste rooms
- Maintain cleanliness in garage areas, building entrances/exits, and patios (seasonal)

**General Maintenance & Building Support**:

- Conduct basic maintenance and minor repairs (e.g., light bulb changes, tightening fixtures)
- Perform regular generator checks and notify management of any concerns
- Update and maintain the building’s entrance/access system (e.g., buzzers or fobs)
- Report equipment or facility issues proactively and follow up on work orders
- Coordinate and supervise contractors on-site as required
- Perform light groundskeeping tasks (e.g., seasonal snow/ice monitoring near entrances)
- Keep maintenance tools and supply storage areas clean and organized

**Communication & Emergency Response**:

- Maintain clear communication with the property manager, providing regular updates and reports
- Be available for emergency cleaning or maintenance support, with a maximum two-hour response time
- Document and escalate any incidents, safety issues, or resident concerns

**Qualifications**:

- Proven experience in commercial or condominium cleaning and general building maintenance
- WHMIS certification and knowledge of relevant health and safety standards
- Valid liability insurance (minimum $5 million)
- WSIB clearance certificate
- Ability to manage and prioritize tasks independently
- Experience with electronic access systems or willingness to learn
- Ability to lift up to 25lbs and perform physically demanding tasks

**Contract Terms**:

- This is an independent contractor role
- Managed by Wilson Blanchard on behalf of the Condominium Board
