Sheila's Catering Co. is a leading Caterer based in South Surrey that services the lower mainland. We are fast growing company with many opportunities to grow into sub sectors of the industry (food service, mobile catering, event catering, movie catering). JOB OVERVIEW

This position is inclusive of kitchen and event chef duties including prep, set up, quality control, delegation, and leading a team of cooks. Additionally, this position is responsible for recording all temperatures of food storage units and ensuring the health and safety of customers or staff is never at risk. This role includes daily operation of the kitchen, organizing prep lists and maintaining an organized and sanitary kitchen while controlling labour and waste. Proper training, support and mentorship will be provided.

**Responsibilities**:

- Food Safety
- Daily, Weekly and Monthly Organization and Cleaning Duties as necessary
- Coordination and Distribution of Prep Tasks to Kitchen Staff
- Reporting Stock Concerns to Executive Chef
- Allergy Prevention / Cross Contamination
- Minimizing Food Waste
- Professional Conduct and Positive Team Work
- Productivity and Leading by Example
- Rotation of Perishable Products (FIFO)
- Kitchen Sanitation Compliance Enforcement
- Other Duties as Required by Management

Qualifications:

- 1 to 3 years experience in a commercial kitchen.
- Food safe certificate.
- Valid drivers license with a clean abstract.
- High standard of grooming.
- Ability to work alone or in a team atmosphere.
- Able to follow standard recipes as well as adapt to the clients needs when required.
- An eye for food quality and detail.
- Great communication skills both verbal and written.

**Salary**: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
