**JOB PURPOSE**:
To oversee all aspects of our Environmental, Health & Safety program, coordinate, advise, and support site/facility management and supervision in actively achieving a Target Zero culture. To promote accident/injury prevention, environmental and occupational health & safety compliance consistent with all applicable legislation and B&W requirements. To review, create, communicate and maintain EHS documentation and programs as required.

**ACCOUNTABILITIES**:
1. Health & Safety Compliance
- Undertake and schedule audits and inspections of facilities/sites to identify/eliminate and control unsafe acts and conditions.
- Communicate, correct and coach adherence to Target Zero and other established OHS programs.
- Communicate, correct and coach adherence to B&W safety policies and procedures and relevant provincial legislation.
- Communicate, correct and coach adherence to Customer policies and procedures
- Support management team with incident and injury management and investigations.
- Ensure adequate CAPA’s are established and completed for applicable incidents
- SPOC for all regulatory inspections, audits and interactions
- Onsite field safety support
- Support regional 3rd Party Audits (COR)

2. Administration
- Prepare site/project specific documents, hazard assessments and Safety Plans
- Populate EHS Insight with all relative information regarding: Target Zero Energy, Incidents, Investigations, Inspections and Audits
- Participate in PAR meetings and proposal development
- Compile and organize all facility/site EHS related documentation in support of 3rd party audits, inspections, and per B&W Target Zero Program.
- Support and facilitate EHS training within the region
- Support B&W EHS team
- Support 3rd Party compliance (Avetta/ISNet)
- Participate in Regional, Divisional and Corporate EHS teleconferences

3. Other duties as assigned by the company

**KNOWLEDGE**:

- Minimum 5 years of construction or project safety experience with (2) years’ as the primary Site Safety Leader. Professional certification preferred; GSC-CSC, CSO/RCSO, CSC, CHSC and NSCO
- Extensive working knowledge of Provincial Regulations, Occupational Safety Standards
- Experience in dealing with regulatory agencies, safety and health professionals, and legal representatives
- Advanced computer skills necessary with the ability to navigate MS Office with proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, and PowerPoint)
- Current Construction safety certifications:
Confined Space
Fall Protection
First Aid
WHMIS 2015
COR Auditor or equivalent
Respiratory Fit
Investigation - (Tap Root) or equivalent
Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to work as a team member on projects with an aptitude for problem solving
- Organized and detail oriented
- Able to manage time effectively and prioritize responsibilities
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently, self-starter, and motivator
- High energy
- Proficient in the English Language

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months
