**Job Summary**
We are seeking a friendly, organized, proactive and adaptable BIA Office & Community Assistant to support the Parkdale BIA Manager. This is a hands-on role that combines office work with on-the-ground/on foot support for neighbourhood events and business outreach. This role reports directly to the Parkdale BIA Manager and includes training and ongoing support.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Assist with general office administration and organizational tasks
- Support business membership initiatives and outreach
- Help with seasonal streetscape projects, including decorations
- Distribute promotional materials to local businesses
- Attend BIA events and capture photos/videos highlighting businesses and neighbourhood activities
- Support ad hoc projects as needed
**What We’re Looking For**:
- Interest in local businesses, community development, urban studies, business, marketing, communications, or related fields.
- Strong interpersonal skills; friendly, professional, and reliable
- Comfortable working independently and managing tasks with mínimal supervision
- Organized and detail-oriented, and able to meet simple deadlines
- Comfortable using a smartphone to take photos or short videos
- Comfortable being out in the community (walking around, visiting local businesses)
- Creative mindset or interest in photography/video
- Comfortable using Instagram for posting or stories
- Familiar with Canva or other simple graphic design tools
- Interest in photography or video
**Availability**
- Part-time during the academic year (approximately 15-20 hours per week)
- Flexibility for occasional evenings or weekends to support events
