As the Leader, Transit Support Centre (TSC), you will foster a culture of continuous improvement, promoting training, growth and inclusivity in a heavily unionized environment. You will support research and implementation of technological advances that support the radio communications and train tracking network, participating in committees responsible for Light Rail Transit (LRT) extensions and critical emergency management practices. Primary duties include:
- Collaborate closely with the other Leaders in the Transit Support Services division and with leaders across the Calgary Transit business unit, to support and strengthen the objectives and vision of the division and business unit.
- Ensure day-to-day service meets the growth of Calgary Transit service as outlines in the implementation of RouteAhead strategy through strategic planning.
- Provide leadership and guidance to several teams which facilitate the monitoring and support of Bus, LRT operations and a dispatch service with a focus on the transit safety.
- Provide guidance and leadership in emergency management situations which may impact Calgary Transit Operations, customers and partner agencies.
- Effectively develop and sustain partnerships with partner agencies and internal/external groups through integrating strategy with systems, people and processes.
- Provide coaching, leadership, direction, and communication to direct and indirect reports to ensure development and engagement of staff and build succession and strengthen culture within the TSCs section of the division.
- Experience in policy development and emergency planning would be considered an asset.
**Qualifications**
- A degree in Business Administration, Emergency Management, Communications or a related field and at least 7 years of experience working in a supervisory/management or employees' role.
- Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered.

**Working Conditions**: This position in on-call 24/7 for any service-related emergency situations.**Pre-employment Requirements**
- A security clearance will be conducted.
