Role At A Glance
We are seeking a co-op student to serve as a Civil Inspector in our team focused environment. With individualized orientation, training, and guidance you will be given the opportunity to work directly with civil construction inspectors, contract administrators and civil engineers to gain valuable engineering and consulting experience. This opportunity with be based out of our Kitchener Office.

What You Will Do
- Assist senior and intermediate field inspectors with inspection duties such as field verification of completed work for payment and as constructed information.
- Provide part time and resident inspection of various construction projects.
- Ensure the contractor constructs the projects in accordance with the requirements of the contract.
- Liaise with project stakeholders such as owners, contractors, residents, and utility authorities during the course of design and construction.
- Assist with contract administration duties including preparation of progress payments, meeting minutes and inspection reports
- Assist project managers and designers with design of various municipal, subdivisions and site plan development projects
- Assist in quantity take offs and preparation of engineering estimates
- Assist with topographical surveys and construction layout
- Other duties as assigned by direct supervisors and senior team members.
What You Bring to the Table
- Reliable transportation and a valid G2 driver’s license are required
- Base knowledge and interest in the Civil engineering field
- Previous experience with an engineering consulting firm and familiarity with municipal projects would be beneficial
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and Civil 3D would also be an advantage
- Excellent communication skills for client interactions and in technical writing
- Organizational, technical, and problem-solving abilities will be an asset in this role.
