About the Role:
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a variety of Indian curries (vegetarian and non-vegetarian), lentils, and gravies
- Execute North and South Indian dishes such as biryanis, dosas, idlis, tandoori items, and rotis/parathas
- Ensure consistent taste, portioning, and presentation of dishes
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety standards in the kitchen
- Assist in prepping ingredients, sauces, and marinades ahead of service
- Coordinate with other kitchen staff and follow the Head Chef’s instructions
- Monitor food inventory and report shortages or spoilage
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a line cook in an Indian kitchen
- Strong understanding of Indian spices, cooking styles, and regional flavors
- Ability to multitask and perform well under pressure
- Familiarity with food safety and sanitation standards
- Team-oriented with strong communication skills
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
Preferred:
- Experience working with both North and South Indian cuisine
- Knowledge of tandoor operation is a plus
- Culinary training or certification is an asset
