Research Intern

Reporting to the Associate Dean - Equity & Inclusion, the Research Intern - Equity & Inclusion will work in partnership with the Centre for Social Accountability (CFSA) and community partners on priority research projects that aim in helping to advance research activities related to health equity and medical education.
Specifically, this position will support the networking and collaboration of a broad range of health professionals, educators, and learners working across the region. Through these networks, the Research Intern - Equity & Inclusion will strengthen professional relationships that can aid in the advancement of collective efforts to advance health equity and medical education in Northern Ontario.
This position is covered by the Terms and Conditions of the OPSEU Unit 677 Collective Agreement (Unit 2). A copy is available on the NOSM University website.
**Responsibilities**:
Tasks may include but are not limited to the following:
- Participate in data gathering, compilation, and presentation for reports;
- Assist in the preparation of research reports, papers, and presentations;
- Supporting data collection and analysis, as required;
- Undertaking assigned document analysis and reviews;
- Performing administrative and research liaison activities on specific research projects;
- Deliver oral and written reports to the Associate Dean - Equity & Inclusion as well as various community stakeholders;
- Coordinate the logistics associated with the research project team meetings;
- Supporting knowledge mobilization activities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
**Qualifications**:
**Education**:
- A University degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized university with Canadian accreditation or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:
- Related experience is considered an asset, but not a requirement
- Community development and relationship building
- Demonstrated writing proficiency (i.e. reports, research publications, policies);
- Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills;
- Work effectively under time pressures;
- Work effectively in a team environment;
- Work within established organizational practices, protocols, and policies;
**Language**:
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbally, written and comprehension)
- French/Indigenous language skills would be considered asset
