We currently have an opening for an
**Occupational Health and Safety Specialist. **This role reports to the
**Director of Operations**, and is based out of our location in Richmond, BC.

**Job responsibilities for this position**:

- Develops and coordinates monthly training meetings for Supervisors and crews,

o prepares and facilitates the Main Safety Teams’ monthly safety meeting, keeps records as required.
- Participates in the incident and injury investigation processes and related follow up, as needed.
- Facilitates the development of Crown Packaging’s health and safety programs,

o updates policies and procedures as needed with key team members,

o ensures the first aid and fire systems are functioning and in compliance with local regulations.
- Ensures that all of the safety programs and processes run effectively,

o recommends/implements changes and improvements,

o participates in internal audits and inspections as required, follows up, as needed.
- Collects safety related data, analyzes details and reports trends, makes recommendations, etc.
- Chief liaison between Crown Packaging and outside safety agencies and vendors, including WSBC, the BC Safety Alliance, etc.
- Provides support for health and safety efforts at all locations.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications and requirements for this position**:

- +3 years of work-related experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- A working knowledge of WSBC regulations and claims administration experience.
- A Bachelors Degree or equivalent post-secondary education is appreciated
- Confined space, forklift and propane, train the trainer, experience preferred.
- Level 3 OFA certificate appreciated.
- Proficient when using Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Superior problem-solving skills.
- Detail oriented and has the ability to multi-task.
- Able to work in a group as well as individually.
- A strong work ethic and is dependable and reliable.
