As a Sanding & Preparation Technician at Grinyer Interior Doors & Closets, you'll play an important part in creating the high-quality finish our customers love. Working in a clean, modern production environment, you'll prepare doors for painting by inspecting, repairing, sanding, and ensuring every surface meets our quality standards.
You’ll work with a supportive production team, helping to organize, handle, and package doors while maintaining a safe, efficient workspace. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in craftsmanship, pays attention to detail, and enjoys hands-on, physical work.
**WHAT YOU'LL DO**
- Inspect doors and perform filling or repairs as needed
- Hand-sand door details, shaker edges, and sticking
- Use power sanders to finish both sides and edges of doors
- Review door labels for paint color accuracy
- Inspect primed doors, filling and re-sanding where required
- Re-hang repaired doors for final paint
- Assist with packaging, labeling, and organizing finished doors
- Keep the sanding booth and filters clean and vacuumed
- Use a chop saw and nail gun to cut and build rails and valances
- Help receive and organize incoming door and hardware orders
- Support general shop cleanliness and efficiency
