**Why you’ll love this role**:
The Compliance Officer(CO) supports TruStone Financial Inc (“TruStone”) on matters of legislative, regulatory, and compliance through research, analysis, and delivery of required changes to management and contracted advisors. The CO liaises with Empire Life’s VP & Chief Compliance Officer and works closely with the VP & Chief Compliance Officer of BridgeForce Financial Group to ensure TruStone is meeting its compliance obligations as a subsidiary of Empire Life and as a Managing General Agency (MGA) in the marketplace. The incumbent is guided by defined goals and objectives and directly reports to the Chief Operating Officer.

**What you’ll be working on**:
- Assists TruStone in achieving and maintaining a compliant operating environment- Liaises with Empire Life on enterprise applicable compliance and has access to and provides compliance reporting as required by the Chief Compliance Officer of Empire Life- Liaises with BridgeForce Financial Group on MGA applicable compliance and regulatory reporting matters and implements consistent compliance practices as provided by the Chief Compliance Officer for BridgeForce Financial Group- Provides regular reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and VP Compliance of BridgeForce- Ensures any third party outsourced procedures reflect compliant practices and appropriate monitoring of those practices is in place- Administers a risk-based regulatory compliance monitoring system that validates and monitors TruStone’s compliance with applicable requirements, including BridegForce policies and procedures- Completes reviews on regulatory practices and internal policies and procedures for the organization and contracted advisors where applicable- Ensures market conduct risks are monitored effectively through report analysis and random and/or risk based reviews of internal procedures execution and advisor compliance- Completes suspicious transaction reviews and case creations escalated to Empire Life Chief Compliance Officer or BridgeForce’s VP Compliance as required- Assists management and the Chief Compliance Officer of Bridgeforce with privacy concerns. Completes privacy incidents and reporting, handling privacy complaints on an as needed basis.- Assists management, the Chief Compliance Officer of Bridgerforce and insurers with market conduct and client complaint investigations.- Manage, implement and keep up to date policies and procedures for TruStone, including employee related policies and any required as a subsidiary of Empire Life.- Continually assesses industry trends to ensure TruStone is consistent with industry standards and best practices.- Analyze the impact of legislative, regulatory and compliance changes on current procedures, processes and administrative systems/tools; provide summary and recommendations to management and BridgeForce VP Compliance.- Provide initial and on-going compliance training for TruStone employees and advisors as required- Assist advisors and AGAs contracted with TruStone in understanding and developing their own compliance programs. Assist TruStone AGAs and advisors to identify gaps in their compliance programs and assist them in closing those gaps.- Participate in industry regulatory meetings as assigned.

**What you’ll need to have**:
- 5+ years work experience in the life insurance/financial services industry- Knowledge of life insurance law and the jurisdiction of all regulatory bodies-
- Completion of a university degree in business or other related area- Ability to research, analyze, evaluate, integrate ideas and problem solve- Clear writing, listening and verbal communication skills- Ability to guide and motivate employees and others, including independently contracted advisors- Ability to negotiate solutions and problem solve- Well-developed communication and presentation skills- Ability to work independently, prioritize and balance multiple tasks or projects- French language skills are an asset

- Office environment- Prolonged periods of concentration and attention to detail- Prolonged periods of sitting while using a computer and/or telephone- May be required to work extended hours- Travel may be required
