As Conference Manager, reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for planning and executing a wide range of events, from small meetings to large conventions. They work with all sorts of different people—from vendors to speakers to attendees—to ensure that everything goes smoothly.

Conference managers may also be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of their company or organization. This might include overseeing administrative staff, handling human resources issues, developing new products or services, etc.

Conference Manager Job Duties

Conference managers typically have a wide range of responsibilities, which can include:

- Overseeing the planning and execution of conferences, meetings, and other events
- Managing the financial aspects of an event such as securing sponsorships, negotiating prices with vendors, and planning budgets
- Coordinating travel arrangements for speakers, attendees, and event staff, including arranging for flights, booking hotels, renting vehicles, etc.
- Arranging for publicity for the event through press releases, social media campaigns, advertisements, or other methods
- Developing or approving the conference agenda, including topics and speakers
- Managing the registration process, including handling online registrations and providing customer service to attendees to ensure they have a positive experience at the conference
- Scheduling speakers and panelists, arranging for audiovisual equipment, and making arrangements for event facilities such as meeting rooms or ballrooms
- Coordinating the event with other staff members such as catering managers, security personnel, and event planners
- Coordinating the event’s finances, including accounting for expenses, generating reports of earnings, and collecting payment from participants or sponsors

**Qualifications**:
**Your experience and skills include**:

- University/College degree in a related discipline preferred
- 3+ years’ experience in catering and conference services required
- Seasoned with an operation background
- Strong organizational, leadership and project management skills are required
- Must be able to lead a team, think strategically, and handle multiple projects
- Demonstrated ability to drive the achievement of business goals through aligning people, process, structure, information, and communication systems
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) required
- Basic knowledge of audio-visual equipment, internet, telecommunication technology - helpful.
- Knowledge of Opera Sales and Catering Software.
