Onex is one of the largest private equity firms in Canada. **Reporting to**:VP Operations The Supply Chain Specialist will help support the logistics of Walter Surface Technologies in and out of its facilities located in Canada and USA. These operations can include inbound shipments of goods coming from Europe, Asia or elsewhere to Canada or the USA by sea or air freight, internal land transfers within Canada, USA or across the border and outbound shipments by truck or parcel freight towards Canadian or American customers. **Job Summary** The Supply Chain Specialist will work to ensure shipments are delivered on time and within quality expected. He/she will need to work with the various suppliers and internal customers to track shipments and provide the needed visibility. He will also support the custom clearance of international shipments in collaboration with Walter’s custom brokers. When required, he/she will have to produce documentation for shipping and custom clearance. At last, the specialist will need to tackle every issue related to the freight operations such as damaged goods, price negotiations, over/under shipped, invoices discrepancies, etc. They will also be called to work closely with different internal and external stakeholders at all levels. **Responsibilities** - Maintaining shipments tracking data in ERP system. - Produce freight or customs paperwork as needed. - Work in close relation with Finance department to validate invoices and charges. - Negotiate Freight rates. - Support the Purchasing team in daily activities, release purchase orders for MRO, handle over/under and damaged shipment, update delivery date, monitor the purchasing mailbox, etc. - Handle any other tasks related to Walter’s supply chain and logistics operations. - Provide different reports and participate in supply chain projects. **Required aptitudes** - Focus on customer satisfaction. - Strong aptitude in communication and negotiation. - Maintains positive and collaborative attitude with all stakeholders. - Encourage positive team environment where continuous improvement is valued. **Experience & Education**: - Bachelor’s degree in administration, Supply Chain, Logistics or College Degree in Administration with 2-5 years of experience in logistics will be considered. - Minimum of 1 year of direct work experience in international logistics, supply chain, freight management. - Fluent in both English and French (verbal & written). - ERP system (Tecsys) experience is an asset. - Good knowledge of Word, Excel, Powerpoint. **Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent **Salary**: $14.25-$37.41 per hour **Benefits**: - Casual dress - Company events - Dental care - Disability insurance - Employee assistance program - Employee stock purchase plan - Extended health care - Life insurance - On-site gym - On-site parking - Paid time off - RRSP match - Tuition reimbursement - Vision care - Work from home Schedule: - 8 hour shift - Monday to Friday - No weekends Supplemental pay types: - Bonus pay Work Location: Hybrid remote in Pointe-Claire, QC H9R 1C1
