Are you a seasoned Health, Safety, and Environmental professional looking for a dynamic role in a major player within the heavy civil/marine construction business? VanPile is seeking a dedicated Project HSE Manager to lead our Health, Safety, and Environmental programs, ensuring a positive and safe work environment as we embark on exciting projects.
**Job Title**: Project HSE Manager
**Location**: North Vancouver (initially), with relocation to the project site on scheduled rotations.
**Responsibilities**:
- Develop, implement, and manage HSE procedures, programs, and policies in alignment with local, provincial, and federal regulations.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environmental rules and regulations, conducting regular reviews and risk assessments.
- Lead incident investigations, provide safety orientation and training, and coordinate workplace programs to ensure a safe work environment.
- Manage safety audits, environmental audits, safety reports, and statistics, identifying trends and proposing corrective actions.
**Experience/Qualifications**:
- Professional safety designation (e.g., CRSP, RCSO, NCSO) or Diploma/Degree in Occupational Health and Safety/Environmental Science.
- Minimum of five years of safety and environmental regulatory experience in an industrial setting.
- Proficient in WorkSafe regulations, emergency response practices, WHMIS, and hazardous material handling.
- Experience in safety education, training programs, claims management, and developing safety procedures.
**Skills/Abilities**:
- Strong communication, planning, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work autonomously with limited supervision and high motivation.
- Sound understanding of health and safety protocols, including emergency response and hazardous material management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and excellent computer skills.
- Willingness to work in remote locations with varying schedules as per project needs.
