Procurement Coordinator

We are looking for a Procurement Coordinator / Intern with Mechanical background for our patent pending products who will work to help manufacture and procure products.
The person must have flair for procurement and vendor development with ability to propose design changes to current or new designs based on customer feedback.
**Procurement and Vendor Management**:
- Evaluating and Sourcing Vendors.
- Modifying and enhancing design files to help improve the product.
- Negotiation and Quality Assurance
- Manage procurement portal and update pricing
- Look at competing products and evaluate changes to beat the competition.
- Managing Design of in-house products.
- Report/review all product related issues/changes
- Work in conjunction with the team, and vendors to collect data and maintain the integrity of data
- Research, develop, and communicate new products and services.
- Procure quality products and materials; ensuring timely delivery of materials to meet production and customer requirements.
- Purchase materials and subcontract operations based on pre-determined requirements and other pre-set parameters.
**Order Processing and Fulfillment**:
- Process and Administrate Purchase Requisitions/Orders
- Item code creation for packaging items, and creation of master data sheet for consumables
- Entry of purchase requisitions and purchase orders
- Support the review, collection and file plan of supporting documentation in all purchasing process (i.e., proforma invoices, commercial documents, and any other regulatory documentation)
- Report/review all purchase related issues/change
**Coordination and Administration**:
- Coordinate with Stock Room Keeper and director supervisor to maintain shop inventory and materials at proper levels.
- Ensure the accuracy of all transactions related to the material or subcontract operation being purchased.
- Update inventory and purchasing database as required.
- Monitor costs and trends of commodities, negotiate price-quality breakdowns with vendors, and overall ensure highest quality of goods and services at lowest possible cost.
- Managing vendor communications - on
- and off-site.
- Monitor raw material inventory for optimum performance.
- Communicate order status to Project Managers, Manufacturing, Operations, etc.
- Maintain accurate system data for use by Manufacturing and Project Management.
- Maintain accuracy of paperwork for vendors, receiving, and accounting.
- Track vendor performance and make recommendations accordingly.
- Coordinate with shop floor to identify and correct inventory deficiencies.
- Assist Engineering with sourcing materials, or with Estimating as required.
- Conduct value analysis on materials and processes to reduce costs.
- Other duties as required.
**Skills Required**:
- 1-2 years purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment - store fixture/retail environments manufacturing is preferred.
- Managing pricing and fulfillment on Cloud based portals
- Excellent Computer Skills
- MS office
- Excel
- Solidworks ( Nice to have)
**Location** - Mississauga - Part Time - 20 hrs / week
**Job Type**: Part-time
Pay: From $16.00 per hour
