Our plants are located across North America with our Canadian headquarters in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. **DutiesResponsibilities**: - Ensure all staff adhere to company safety standards, GMP, and HACCP requirements at all times - Monitor safe work practices daily, conducting observations and immediately correcting unsafe behaviors or conditions. - Ensure all safety equipment is used properly and consistently by staff. - Lead or support investigations for workplace incidents, near misses, or hazards, ensuring proper reporting and corrective action. - Provide daily coaching, guidance, and direction to packaging staff, ensuring work is completed safely, accurately, and on time - Lead by example, modeling professionalism, integrity, and accountability in every interaction - Build a positive team culture by motivating staff, resolving conflicts, and encouraging open communication - Train and cross-train staff in packaging procedures, labeling, safety protocols, and quality programs. - Conduct regular shift huddles to align the team on production goals, safety reminders, and operational updates. - Participate in staff evaluations, feedback sessions, and progressive discipline as needed, always fostering growth and improvement. - Champion a "safety-first" mindset, ensuring compliance in a safety-sensitive work environment. - Supervise and coordinate all daily packaging activities to meet production schedules and customer requirements. - Oversee packaging line performance, ensuring accuracy in labeling, palletizing, documentation, and inventory tracking. - Respond quickly to production disruptions or equipment malfunctions, coordinating with maintenance to minimize downtime. - Plan and assign labour to maximize efficiency while maintaining high standards of safety and quality. - Ensure packaging area is clean, organized, and audit-ready at all times. - Monitor performance data, identify trends, and implement corrective actions to meet or exceed department targets. - Support rework activities, ensuring quality control and traceability are maintained. - Actively participate in third-party audits and ensure compliance with all food safety and quality programs. **Essential Qualifications**: - Minimum High school diploma or equivalent - Knowledgeable and capable of operating complex packaging lines. - Previous experience in food manufacturing / packaging may be preferred. - Must hold or can hold a valid Sask. forklift operator certificate. - Excellent communication and organizational skills are required. - Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English. - Exceptional computer skills (word, excel, data entry, etc.) - Must have the ability to perform physical tasks repetitively such as climbing ladders/stairs and lift 50lbs and working 12 hr. shifts. - Must be able to work in a grain processing environment which exposes staff to allergens such as, but not limited to, grain and grain dust. - Must be comfortable in working with heights.
