PURPOSE OF

THE POSITION

The Floor Manager provides operational and professional support to the Executive Director and Operations Manager and assists in coverage when the ED or Ops Manager is not available. The Floor Manager will provide a wide range of management services, work with mínimal supervision and is expected to work in a role that is supportive of and complimentary to that of the Executive Director and Operations Manager. This is an out-of-scope position in a unionized environment. Duties primarily occur during weekdays with some flexibility for evening hours. Schedule set out in advance with the ED. Ability to take share of On-Call afterhours responsibilities. Excellent benefits, pension, and leave allowances available. Starting wage $32/hour and average of 72 hours per pay period (2 weeks) with one EDO bi-weekly.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

ADMINISTRATION
- Provide ongoing support to the DVC office and main floor.
- Provide support for operational requirements of the shelter.
- Assist with the development of policies, procedures, and training resources.
- Assist with communications to staff, funders, donors and the public as delegated by the ED
- Monitor work and office environments for Domestic Violence Counsellors and present potential solutions to the Ops Manager and/or ED for effective systems that address quality service delivery, efficiency and safety in all shelter program areas
- Delegate employee activities and provide direct supervision and support to staff
- Management On-Call after hours rotation shared with ED and OPS.

HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
- Assist Operations Manager with the recruitment, hiring, and orientation training process for new employees while following Personnel Committee terms of reference.
- Assist in recruiting, orienting, and supervising or delegating tasks for practicum and co-op/summer students.
- Takes a lead role in scheduling and monitoring of the DVC office and work with the Shelter Coordinator as needed on scheduling.

PUBLIC RELATIONS/ FUNDRAISING/ FUNDS
- Occasional representation or co-representation of the agency at committees, meetings or events at the ED’s discretion.
- Provide practical support for fundraising activities
- Grant writing research and support

OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED
- The ED or Ops may assign other duties or tasks that they deem reasonable in accordance with the interests and needs of Regina Transition House and its clients.

KNOWLEDGE
- Knowledge of community based non-profit organization operations, human resources practices, funding and strategic planning, union/management and board governance dynamics, policy and procedure development.
- Working knowledge of domestic or intimate partner violence, gender based violence, stabilizing crisis, residential programming, and client case management.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in the Human services combined with management, administrative and supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience with the necessary skills/abilities.
- First Aid with CPR C certification
- Valid SK driver’s license and eligibility for enrollment in agency auto insurance plan
- Vulnerable sector criminal records check

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
