**About the opportunity**:
To meet the needs of our constantly evolving clientele, Best Way Stone is looking to expand our Accounting Team, which supports the achievement of the company's short and long-term strategic objectives. Located at our Head Office in Woodbridge, the Cost Analyst will analyze the financial/production data and make recommendations to uncover inefficiencies, which is an integral part of the company’s efforts to ensure profitability and business success.

The Cost Analyst will have the following qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree or 3-Year Diploma in Accounting or Finance.
- 2+ years of experience in a Cost Analyst role at manufacturing company.
- Solid understanding of Information Systems and Advanced MS Excel.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Organized and able to work under pressure.
- Familiarity with Sage 300 ERP, MS Access, MS Forms, MS PowerBI, MS Power Automate (Flow) would be an asset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Thorough understanding of cost accounting principles and procedures.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
- Previous experience with the creation/maintaining of systems, (i.e. a PO system) is an asset.

The Cost Analyst will perform the following duties:

- Analyzing/ provide production efficiency, and utilization reports weekly/monthly.
- Analyze weekly/monthly actual production costs to ensure standards are in line.
- Estimate costs for new products, create standard costs and compare budgets with actuals.
- Analyze monthly impact of cost changes in product costing and on gross margin.
- Quarterly/monthly review cost structure to ensure all costs are captured correctly on costing templates.
- Analyze monthly cost of different departments such as shipping department, yard-staff, and office.
- Develop/prepare Key Performance Indicator reporting.
- Assist in budgeting process including development of yearly sales, production, inventory, labor, operating expense budgets.
- Review monthly actual expenses and variance to the budgets.
- Assist in month-end/year-end GL entries/schedule.
- Perform capital budgeting analysis such as cost/benefit, payback, NPV.
- Monitor/review all company databases to ensure information is updated accurately such as Sage, Access, and Power BI.
- Develop/review Power BI reports as needed.
- Supporting other departments/management for any reports required.
- Review/provide analysis on new systems.
- Other duties as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

Hours will vary with business demands; however, start/end times are flexible.
