The Personal Support Worker (PSW) is responsible for providing care to residents under the direction of the RPN, RN and Nursing Management. The PSW is responsible for providing this care in a safe and professional manner within the scope of their position.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provides basic personal care (bathing, dressing, eating, turning and repositioning, toileting, oral hygiene, hair care, nail care, grooming, shaving, etc.) as set out in the Multi-Disciplinary Plan of Care.
- Assist with nutrition following Compliance Standards, observing food and fluid intake and report changes in resident eating habits or abilities.
- Responsible for resident transfers using the safe resident lift and transfer methods as taught at orientation - must use 2 staff for all mechanical lift transfers.
- Observes and respects residents’ rights, dignity, privacy, confidentiality and responds to residents’ family concerns promptly.
- Participate in annual education, required in-services, and adheres to St. Joseph’s at Flemings policies and procedures.

**Qualifications**:

- Must possess a valid Personal Support Worker (PSW) certificate from an accredited College.
- Consideration will be given to those that have successfully completed the first year of a recognized nursing program or possess the equivalent education/experience.
- Must be available to work weekends, statutory holidays and varied shifts.
- Experience working in Long-Term Care field an asset
- Must have strong written, verbal, and nonverbal communication skills
- Possess strong conflict resolution skills and critical thinking skills. Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

Pay: $20.50-$21.57 per hour
